Life Poortview is a mental health hospital in Poortview, Roodepoort, run by Life Healthcare. An 80-bed mental health facility in Ruimsig with a dedicated adolescent programme for 12 to 18 year olds and two weekly outpatient support groups.

Poortview opens to visitors on Wednesday evenings and both weekend afternoons only, and discourages anyone under 12 because of the nature of the environment. Two free support groups run in the conference hall and are open to outpatients: general wellness on Tuesdays and substance dependency on Thursdays, both 18:00 to 19:00. The adolescent programme takes 12 to 18 year olds. There is no emergency unit here, so in a crisis go to your nearest emergency department.
