About us
My Medical Aid is an independent South African directory of doctors, hospitals and medical aid options. We are not a broker, we do not sell medical aid, and no scheme pays us to appear here.
How we source our data
Contribution figures come from each scheme's own published rate schedule or benefit guide for the stated year. Every plan page names the document the figures came from and the date we checked it. Where a scheme's rate schedule is not publicly available, we leave the option out rather than estimate.
Doctor and hospital listings come from public directories and each facility's own published information. Provider network entries come from the network lists schemes publish, and every network result shows the date of the list it came from.
What we get wrong
Details change constantly. Doctors move, practices close, networks are revised without notice. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
How we make money
Advertising. Ad units are labelled and kept out of search results, listings and comparison results, so nothing you see in a result is there because someone paid for it.
