The rehabilitation ward at Eugene Marais is in a different league from the rest of the hospital: five hours every weekday afternoon and eight at weekends, because patients here are in for weeks of neuro-spinal recovery. Everywhere else it is two short slots. The paediatric ward runs an hour later in the evening than the adult wards. Children may visit the general wards with an adult, but not maternity or oncology, and in maternity only siblings are allowed. Nobody is admitted between 21:00 and 07:00.
