Carstenhof is one of the few private hospitals that welcomes children as visitors to the general wards, provided an adult is supervising them. The intensive care and high care units are stricter: two family members only, and no one under 12. Birthing partners get 09:00 to 20:00 rather than the three standard slots. One parent may sleep in with an admitted child while the other visits normally. Each room opens onto the grounds, so the hospital is calmer than most to visit.
