Maternity at St George's is open ten hours a day, from 10:00 to 12:00 and again from 14:00 right through to 20:00, but only siblings among the children. The general wards get a two-hour afternoon from 14:30 and an hour in the evening, and no visitors are allowed outside those times. The maternity unit has held Mother and Baby Friendly status since 2014 and fathers are encouraged to be fully part of the birth.
