Life Brackenview

Life Brackenview is a mental health hospital in Brackendowns, Alberton, run by Life Healthcare. A dedicated 80-bed mental health facility taking voluntary and assisted admissions, split into 50 voluntary, 15 assisted and neuropsychiatric, 10 adolescent and 5 involuntary beds. The adolescent programme treats 12 to 17 year olds.

Visiting times

Weekends and public holidays
14:00 to 16:00

Brackenview opens to visitors at weekends and on public holidays only, for two hours from 14:00. There is no weekday visiting, so plan around that. Bring casual clothes and your own toiletries and towels for the length of the stay, since laundry is not provided and rooms are shared. Current medication must come in its original packaging and is handed to the nursing practitioner on admission. Leave valuables at home; the wards have small safes but not for large sums.
